Can’t wait to get another one
We renovated a kitchen and put in the silent under mount range hood. I spent a long time researching before landing in this brand and model. I was so impressed that when guests came over, I’d take them to the stove and say “Listen to this!” and turn on the rangehood to show there was almost nothing to hear and we could continue a conversation despite having it on. Also put the silent exhaust fan in the bathroom and found this great for keeping the exhaust going longer to dry out the room well. Sadly, we had to move house and now facing another kitchen renovation - but at least I know what type of rangehood we will be installing!!

Changed our lives
Our previous pull out had no suction and sounded like a freight train.
We are only in a small retirement village unit but still got the 1600m3 fan so that we could keep the cooking smells down. We love cooking.
We were worried that the unit did not cover the stove top - but with the large motor it extracts everything that steams up and even things from beside it - like the rice cooker.
No when we cook we don't have to yell - we don't have to turn the tv down and we don't have to open the windows. Yes the previous one was pretty bad. But we see this an investment in our sanity. Go for it.

Best rangehood ever
Have had this rangehood for two months now and it was the best decision we have made.Previously smells would permeate through the house and linger on the next day.Even on the lowest speed our new rangehood extracts odours and you can see the steam being sucked out.No longer do we have to put our TV on full volume as the noise level of our rangehood is quiet and we do not need to adjust TV volume.Easy to clean and great light coverage we are very happy with our choice.My wife enjoys cooking and this appliance has boosted her love and now enjoys the cooking experience more.

Quiet, powerful, slim-line undermount range hood!
This range hood was recommend to us from our Kitchen Designer whilst in the process of renovating our kitchen. He advised he uses this in all his new/renovated builds aswell as having the same one in his own kitchen at home.
So glad we listened to his advice, this silent undermount range hood is perfection, it is so neatly tucked away under our white gloss cupboards, it has extremely powerful suction power and gets rid of any cooking fumes instantly and also no noise while operating it, it also comes with powerful lights which really help illuminate over my induction cooking space and my whole bench making it easy to see what is being cooked/chopped.
Very impressed with the quality and power of this product and would definitely recommend!

Sensationally Silent Range Hood
We bought this for our kitchen renovation about 18 months ago and absolutely love it. Super quiet, especially using it on the highest speed over our induction cooktop, for which you require strong air extraction to minimise condensation forming on the cold filters of the range hood because they don’t heat up like they would over an electric or gas stove. At the time of purchasing, no other brand could come close to how quiet our Schweigen is. I can easily listen to the family room TV while cooking. Also love the super bright white LED lights.

Great suction, but definitely NOT silent
The Schweigen UM1170-6SP rangehood is great at removing steam, smoke, and cooking smells—no complaints there. It’s definitely quieter than most rangehoods I’ve used, but let’s be clear: it is not silent. Despite having a smooth, properly installed duct (no kinks or concertinaing), it’s still noticeably louder than our dishwasher.
What bothers me most is the marketing. Schweigen heavily emphasizes the word silent across all their promotions, which set my expectations far too high—especially given the premium price point. I was expecting near silence, but in reality, it’s just quieter than average.
If you’re looking for a truly silent rangehood, you may want to explore other options. This one performs well, but the “silent” label is definitely misleading.

Silent rangehoods are the best
This is the second time we have bought this rangehood, the first purchase was when we did a kitchen renovation in our previous home. This time it was for our new home and was one of the no compromise decisions when we were planning our kitchen with the builder. The fact that the rangehood can be on in an open plan kitchen living area without disturbing others is a bonus and ensures we use it every time we cook. This is a must have in any kitchen -as they say silence is golden.

The 1600 motor is strong but the inside unit is pretty crap quality. It came with some tarnishing on the seen aluminum straight from the box, is very flimsy and the filters are difficult to remove.
The unit works well but its definitely not silent. The noise created from the air flow is not obtrusive but still way more then the humm of a laptop which scwheigen claim.
I am happy that it works but a little disappointed and expected more for the price.
